My wife and I have been living in different countries now for about 18 months so it's such a relief to finally have my greencard approved!
The interview itself was so easy, it seems they made their decision before I even got there - it only took about 5 minutes and was just like talking to a bank teller, no private room or anything of that sort, in fact, there were a bunch of people behind me who probably overheard the whole thing lol
Looking forward to going over permanently now............and I've got a couple of jobs I'm being considered for so I'm hoping something can come of those, wish me luck guys
Can you provide specifics like what visa you were on and how long it took from start to finish?
I'm currently just starting my greencard process from an H1B.
I'm sure you'll enjoy San Diego once you get down here ... like no place else on earth.
Prior to getting my greencard, I only ever entered the states as a visitor - never lived or worked there previously though have been several times. In case you're wondering where I'm coming from, I'll be moving over from New Zealand where I'm a citizen.
All in all, the process took about 18 months, though this could've been a lot shorter but we had some delays with tax returns and my birth certificate (US immigration said they didn't have my original, then after about a month said that they did ). I have no idea what it'll be like going from an H1B visa though.
What I can say though, from my personal experience, is that if ALL your papers are in order, the interview is a breeze
Definitely looking forward to some good weather all year round in SD
