Really depends where you are working. Quakertown is pretty far north of Philly (an hour on the turnpike, and much more on 309) West Chester is nice, but also would require a decent commute to the city. Neither borough has a train (although West Chester is pretty close to Exton station) And Quakertown isn't horribly far from Colmar station, both at opposite ends of the R5. Quakertown is more affordable than West Chester, but West Chester has a much more "hip" feel to it. Quakertown is almost part of the Lehigh Valley area (Allentown is a little over 30 min away) and Lake Nockamixon is nearby. West Chester is a little closer to Newark, DE, Reading, and Lancaster, as well as the more expensive Philly suburbs. Really Quakertown and West Chester are hard to compare. It really matters where you plan to be working.

But since this is the LV forum, most people here should know something about Quakertown to tell you. Check out the Philly ones for West Chester info.
