Default Hellertown..what can you tell me? Schools, Taxes..

We are looking into moving out to PA next year. We would like to be close to route 78. We want a newer home (less than 5 years) in a nice family community. I understand the schools are good in Hellertown..

Are there a lot of stores around? I need to be conveniently located to malls and such.

How about taxes? How much on a 3000 sf home?

Thanks!

Default Hellertown/Lower Saucon

There is some fairly decent shopping in the Hellertown area. The Promenade Shops is an outside mall, with a fair share of high end stores. I believe they have a website you could check out. They are about 5 miles from Hellertown.

The Lehigh Valley Mall just added outside stores as well. I think stores include Ann Taylor, Barnes and Noble, Coach, Ann Taylor Loft, Sephora, White House Black Market...etc. The mall is roughly 15 minutes from Hellertown.

I can't answer anything regarding taxes. I'm not a house owner yet and am originally from Florida. But from what I hear and can see for myself, the area is a great place to live and is easy on the eyes.

Hellertown is in the Saucon Valley school district. Saucon Valley School District It has a good reputation. The town itself has some small stores and a big Giant grocery store just South of town. The Promenade shops are over in Center Valley about 15 minutes away. Welcome to The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley I'm not really sure why they named them that because you don't often hear people call this area the Saucon Valley. Anyway, as long as you are looking at Saucon, you might want to check out Southern Lehigh School district which adjoins Saucon Valley and includes the town of Center Valley and Coopersburg. You might need to decide what you would rather have good schools or close by malls - the malls are not located in the best school districts but are not far from them.
