Supposedly, this is a sight of paranormal activity in the Lehigh Valley. It is supposed to be somewhere near Allentown.

It was the site of an abandoned town and I have read that people have seen
some very strange things there.

Does anyone know anything about this place?

It's also not abandoned. It's just a low street along the river that tends to flood. It is quite an interesting little place though - seems somewhat quirky.

I've never heard of the Alamo. What is it? All that comes to mind is one of the remaining Atlas buildings.

The Alamo? I had thought it was in Texas! I was researching some places where there is alleged paranormal activity in PA and this place came up.

I don't know the origins of the name "The Alamo." Not sure if the whole thing is urban legend or if there is some truth to it - or not. Some of what I have read has said that there was once a village there. The apparitions are, shall I say, more extreme than the usual ghosts, mists, floating lights etc. that people claim to see.

You want to see something haunted and creepy. The old and abandoned buildings on the property at the Allentown State hospital. Although in the not too distant future the whole campus will be abandoned.
While growing up, I heard the rumors about some of the empty building that had cells in the basements with shackles on the walls. Strange apparitions seen in windows and hallways.
When my friends and I got nerve to go there, we were caught by security. Never went back.

A foreclosure is for sale in Darktown for only $75K (half the purchase price in 2009) 3 beds, 1.5 baths Year Built:1870

There are 8 road bridges from Northampton County to Lehigh County north of the primary bridge on Route 22 that cross the Lehigh River. Darktown is below the 3rd bridge. The Alamo is an old cement factory near there.

On December 7, 2011 in an episode named Christmas Spirit Ghost Hunters (SyFy network) did a show on the Sun Inn and Hanoverville Roadhouse. Sun Inn is on Main Street, and the Roadhouse is north of route 22 to the East of Center Street (rte 512).

Default Darktown and Alamo

Here's what I've been able to find on my research of the location:

Darktown was possibly a small river front community in the Lehigh Valley in the 1890s. It was located around Water Drive in Whitehall, but its now just a neighborhood. The old Alamo Cement Factory is in the patch of woods south of the old Thomas Iron Works and north of the Lehigh Street Bridge. All that's left of it are the shell of the cement walls of the factory.

I have a satellite image of the location if anyone wants to contact me.

I hope this helps!
