For the most part mail is delivered by zip codes, and the name of the town is not important. The Post office uses a name. According to the Post Office for the zip code 18040 either Easton or Forks Township is an acceptable name.

In a similar manner you can use Bethlehem or Fountain Hill for 18015.

But some zip codes like Ackermanville and Danielsville do not correspond to a legal borough or township at all, they are just place names. Many townships (like Hanover township) usually only put Bethlehem as their mailing address.

Township government is used in Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Wisconsin (in Wisconsin known as towns).

Forks is not a township in Easton, it is under the county government. That said many townships and cities band together to secure police services or school districts. There are only 9 school districts in Northampton county, but there are 17 townships, 19 boroughs, and 2 cities.

Townships usually pay a much lower tax rate than cities. Partly it is because the homes are much more expensive, and partly because the cost of services is lower because there are fewer major crimes, fewer street lights, and other services.

We were wondering if there are any Chinese buffets in Forks Township? We've found a couple of pizza places we will try, but haven't noticed any Chinese buffets. Any other restaurant recommendations? Thanks much!
Beijing Garden (285 Town Center Blvd 18040 )is not a buffet, but it is Chinese food right in Forks township.
Jasmine Restaurant (1855-E Sullivan Trail) is more upscale Japanese place.

Hibachi Grill and Buffet at 191 and route 22 next to the Sears is hugely popular. It is a reasonable drive from Forks Township.

You can purchase Asian food at Wegman's in Northampton crossing (248 and route 33).

Chinese and other Asian restaurants have been opening at record pace in Bethlehem. About 30 years ago their was only one, and I believe there are about 15 now. So there may be more in Easton Fork's township with the growing population.

If you want very authentic Chinese (and not the American variations) try Prince Palace off of route 22, turn north on route 512.
