May I pose some frank ?s regarding that particular corner.
Is "quaint" a word that could be used to describe that area.
Is "Horror Show another".
Should one expect to clean beer bottles and "other type things" up off their lawn every morning. Should we expect hordes of shall we say "rambuntious"
kids passing from EHS everyday. I think I can live with the occasional shooting better then that.
What's the crack head count? I can deal with roughly 10 sightings a week pass my house not 10 sightings every five minutes.
From 300 miles away on a satallite Easton looks absolutely lovely. The nearby mountains, the rivers, are there nice parks near the river?
I can see a football field down the street.
Is Zoning really strict there. I read an ordinance which was basically a "tacky" a code. I like that, but would I need a permit to fence in the back yard?
Children / we have 2 / 3 years and 6 weeks
Is something depressing the dollar value on homes in that area.
Why can we snatch up our dream house for 200k.
The satallite says it's should be 600k
We will see that corner for the first time by weeks end.

I'll try to help you out - my husband works down there as a paramedic, so he's been in and around that neighborhood over the years.
Most of the houses in Wilson/Easton have very small yards and parking is limited, creating a bit of a problem, especially during inclement weather. My mother has friends a few blocks away and they note minor incidents like pumpkins being smashed, lawn chairs removed from their porch over the years. I am not sure about the zoning codes for Wilson Borough, but you could check with the borough office, contact info here: Borough of Wilson
The Easton area is great, as you note, for outdoor pursuits and proximity to many different things for your children. The school district for the area where you're looking is Wilson Area, here is the Great Schools profile: Wilson Area School District schools - district elementary, middle, and high school information
Good luck!

I had to ask hubby for you, since I don't like beer
He said it would definitely be worth your time if you'd be interested in the tour and some tasting. However, last time my husband stopped there he could not buy any product directly from the brewery, apparently they were only allowed to sell beer direct from the brewery on Saturdays. It's worth checking this out before you drive a long way.
Their number is 610-559-5561 or I'm sure you can Google them. Good luck!

Palmer Township and West Easton are good spots. Wilson is kind of iffy as you get closer into the city limits. A man was almost shot yesterday on 11th and Washington but he defended himself with his own licensed firearm. It is getting bad! Be careful!

It is getting so bad! I lived briefly in downtown Easton after getting married and my husband and I would walk almost anywhere and at any hour. That was only a bit over 10 yrs ago too.
As far as Palmer, Wilson, and West Easton, there are bad spots there too, so be careful where you think of living. Our friend finally had enough of seeing drug deals on his corner in West Easton and moved way out to the boondocks so his kids wouldn't be exposed to it anymore.
