I have used City-Data for our last 3 moves and it has been my best resource and I am eternally grateful for all the help over the last 5 years. Our family must move again, however, and I am hoping that someone can give us some guidance. We just have loved living in Nazareth, and I am heart-broken that we will not be able to stay there. I am looking for the same type of town Nazareth, Pa offers with the same great school system (I like the small school system, and the people were great and never small minded about being open to people moving into the area from other places). The location must be equa-distant between New York City and Baltimore Maryland. I am looking to get to either location in or under 2 hours, and having the beaches about the same or less. I would like a great school district with housing that is affordable in the 285-350K range, I don't really like older homes, but if it is a toss up to get a better school district, then okay. I don't care about the proximity to Philly, we don't have to go there -but there is work my husband has to get to in both NYC and Baltimore, MD. More so Baltimore for the next 12-18 months and then NY. Thank you in advance for any feedback and if you have any ideas of how I may get more input, please let me know that too? Thanks again!

I'd look into the Cherry Hill area (good schools, decent priced homes, and good access to shopping malls...).

Much further south gets rural, south of Philly in PA isn't very nice. I think Delaware schools are not good (although if there is a good school district, taxes are lower).

This assumes no Amtrak, because if your husband took Amtrak, you could really live anywhere along the line. Maybe the Princeton area?

I would suggest posting this in the Philadelphia forum. If I were you, I would be getting out a map showing NY, PA, NJ and MD and just figuring out some towns that are plain physically in those areas that you need. And then I would ask about them on the correct forum. Without that, I'm just sitting here trying to guess what would work, which isn't very accurate.

So, my suggestion without looking at a map is Downingtown in Chester county. We lived there for four years. Great schools, nice downtown and they are used to newcomers.
