Default Thank You

Hi all
Sorry i havent been able to respond to any of you.
First, thank you so so much for all of the great information.
We are moving in May /June, and already I am so nervous.
We are picking out everything for the house right now and it is fun, but
overwhelming at times.

I am happy we at least know where we will be living so that i could get some info now, and you guys have been great. I think finding the house was the easiest part!

Kristy- yes my oldest is 9, then i have a 6 year old and my baby just turned 2 today. -it went so fast. And yes they are all boys. I would love to IM you when we get there, it seems like so far away but i know it goes fast.

i have been researching doctors on line and did come across ABC pediatrics. My only problem is right now we have GHI and i am not sure too many drs. in PA accept it. Does anyone know of any pediatricians, or family doctors that do? I did call one -Parkway medical and they said they accept it but that they had a fire in their office, and are only seeing children on thursdays at their other office.

i too am afraid of the getting lost part, it is somewhat nerveracking i have lived in brooklyn all my life, not looking forward to getting lost

any catholic churches nearby? how about soccer for the kids? or judo?
how about boy scouts?
sorry about all of the questions but you all seem to be so helpful so i figured id ask.

i amsure i could think of a million other things but i will end it for now.

again thanks so much

Kathy

Oh, we will absolutely have to hook up when you get here! I also met another mom in our neighborhood with 3 boys - 10, 6, & 3 - so I'll have to introduce you!

We go to ABC pediatrics (they have several offices) but I don't know anything about the insurance question - sorry.

Lower Macungie Youth Assoc LMYA - Welcome to the LMYA website... seems to be were all the kids play sports, however, we have not signed up for anything yet - I'm giving myself a break from the "schedule" right now.

Churches are everywhere, so I'm sure you'll have no problem finding one that you like.

We have been here 3 weeks now, and I just love it! My kids have settled in just great and the neighbors have been super friendly. It seems that everyone is from NY/NJ or somewhere else, so they don't have tons of friends/family and are really looking to make friends. In the three weeks that we've been here, I have been invited over more people's homes than in the two years I lived in my last neighborhood!

I second ABC Peds. I use Dr. Markowitz at the downtown one and while that location is not the most convenient for me I go because I'm so pleased with him and the clinic. I have 3 kids too...all 5 and under and they are always patient and accomodating!

Welcome to the Lehigh Valley!

I drove through Topton which is just west of there and you might want to at least look at it. It's an older community with a very well known and regarded lutheran retirement home. It's off the beaten path and pretty quiet, almost in a forgotten corner of Berks county.

Good luck with the move. My family and I (3 kids and husband)just moved to lower macungie in October and I am certainly happy to say that it is over and somewhat back to normal life again.

Kristy-

So glad to hear you are settling in well. It is nice to know that people are so friendly there. That is exactly what I am looking for in a neighborhood. Hopefully I will be able to find the same type of neighbors that you have found!

Michelle

ok now i cant wait to move. i am also happy to hear people are friendly.
my parents are moving with us as well, they bought a home attatched to us.
my boys are so worried that they wont make friends, i am sure they will, but they are just so anxious(as i am too, but we wont tell them that).
we are coming to PA next friday to pick everything out, and of course give more money, that should be exciting too. we will also do some more "exploring" of the area then too.

If you have time to go a little bit farther out from where you are going to move, Bethlehem gets all decked out for Christmas. I hope you have a nice visit and good weather this weekend. I hate moving too. We've done it several times and the only part that got easier was knowing that the first couple of months are the worst. I really think the Lehigh Valley is a great place to live and you're going to love it.
