for older woman who recently underwent heart surgery and now has poor vision (was symptom of cardiac aneurism). posting in other Pa forum cities here as well as we are open to going anywhere within two hr drive. already been checking places but they cant see for two months, and we need to go sooner.

Don't know where you are. If in the Lehigh Valley, I'm sure either of the 2 big hospitals will have an eye surgeon.

Also, Wills Eye Institute in Philly (may have outposts in suburbs) is supposed to be one of the best in the country. Similarly, NY Eye & Ear is a very highly rated for ophthalmology in NYC.

Agree with blazerj about Wills in Philly - WillsEye | Wills Eye My father who had many eye and heart problems went there a few times.

I live in the Lehigh Valley but work just over the border in NJ. When the patients at our hospital need a neuro-ophthalmologist, they get referred here (Edison, NJ): NJNI For The Patient

If the wait is too long, an alternative strategy is to see a local ophthalmologist and ask their office to help you make the referral contacts to get into a specialist quickly. Wishing you lots of luck!
