Relocating to Bethlehem...help!!
Hello,
I hope you all can help me out a bit. My fiance is going to be relocated to Bethlehem for his job. Since we are not from the area, we are looking to rent first and then look for a house a year or so down the road until we get used to the area. I looked on apartments.com and there are SO many apartments down there, but I don't know where to ever begin looking. It will be me, my fiance and our daughter so I am looking for a safe area. Do any of you have any suggestions about areas or apartments that may be good for us? Thanks in advance!!

I guess I am jaded, but other than a few lonely streets on the south side, and perhaps a few more off Stefko BLVD, when I go home, compared to all the places I have lived since leaving, there seems to be few unsafe places in Bethlehem. I guess I would figure out where you are working and then look at the schools in the area and go from there. My cousins all live in the older areas of East Hills, with their Cape Cods and there are lovely apartments over in that area around Freedom high school. I grew up on Kelchner Road and there are apts on Catasaqua Road. Good luck

i would stick to the north side with a child and a concern for safety, that should cut your list in half.
i agree: catasauqua near westgate mall

i had two points: one that she should stick with north side v. south, thus cutting her list in half. two: agreeing with janeann about catasauqua which is yes, west, and also north.
thanks for the clarification, hope it is helpful to mrsme!

The nice thing about that westgate area is that it does not change.
