Cool Relocating to PA - Schnecksville Area

I currently live and work in NJ and in the process of relocating to Schnecksville, PA. I would like to know what this area has to offer since I dont have any information at all...any information about Schnecksville, PA or its surrounding areas will be very much appreciated.

Me - married with two kids and would like to stay a little close to the NY/NJ area since I will still be working in Edison, NJ.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for your reply sunseeker, can you give me a list of the other areas in Lehigh Valley that are more convenient to get to Edison, NJ. Also when you say there's not a whole lot - can you break that down...how is the crime rate, whats out there for entertainment, how does their school system rate, etc.

Thanks
D.S.

Not a lot of crime, just not a lot to do in the town. But it isn't too far from Allentown. Parkland is an excellent school district. But commuting on Route 22 can be a nightmare in the Lehigh Valley. I would really try to avoid it unless your hours are very flexible. You will hit much less traffic if you live somewhere along Route 33, or Route 78.

I believe the house I was looking at was on Route 309 if am correct, also what does Schnecksville have for entertainment like cinemas, bars, malls etc. I am in my late twenties along with my wife and we go to NY to party a lot but I am open to a quiet relaxing atmosphere as long as I have easy (15 minute) access to grocery stores, hospitals etc.

Let me know if you have any more information..anybody have any pictures of Schnecksville?

Thanks so much for all your help

You will have options within a 15 to 20 minute drive.

I used to live in the Lehigh Valley, I'm over a hour a way now. Schnecksville isn't a bad place, but the commute to Edison could be painful.

Schnecksville is a suburban bedroom community with people commuting just like you will be. Others are all Professors at the nearby Lehigh Carbon Community College.

If you snacking outside just be prepared to share with your four footed friends! Center Valley in another nice area. Offers a little more in terms on amenties. Nazareth area is also another area that has become popular since route 33 was extended to connect to route 78. All have good school districts.

Nope, not a realtor. My husband is a commercial property appraiser so I've hear about a lot of stuff. Lots of second hand learning. Also lived and went to school all over eastern PA. Took a class at Lehigh-Carbon CC. My inpression was a lot of the professors worked part time with other careers, so I'm not sure how many live in Schnecksville to be close to the school. But the was a decade ago so things may have changed.
