Default Preschools in/near Upper and Lower Macungie.

Can anyone give me a list of the better preschools in these areas. I am looking for a place that is more a school than a daycare center.

Thanks!

The two very popular ones I have found are Bethany Christian Preschool at Bethany Methodist Church on Brookside Rd, and Concordia at Concordia Lutheran on the corner of Brookside Rd and Saurkraut rd.

Neither are day cares and both offer Moms Day Out once a week, Lunch Bunch and a 2's, 3's, 4's and 5's preschool (for those who miss the cut off for Kindy).

There are a few others in the area that other neighbors use that again, are not day cares just preschools. I'll look them up and get back to you...

Thanks! I am looking for a school with no religious affiliations..I don't want my children learning religion in preschool (I am Jewish, DH is Catholic). Are there any other ones that don't teach religion?

2kids,
Two of my kids went to pre-schools that were held in churches. While both had religious affiliations, nothing was done that I would connotate as heavy handed religion. Maybe some songs at Christmas time, but I know the pre-schools my kids attended bent over backwards to be inclusive and respected the fact that most of the families had their own religous beliefs. My kids have far less memory of their time in pre-school then I do. I'm the one that reminds them of those days.

I understand your feelings.

Yea, around here most of the preschools I know of are in a church. I am not super religious, but since they aren't too heavy on the God stuff, I am cool with it.

I'll keep my ears open for you.

The preschool at Bethany is the one my friends in that area recommend highly.

Most of the great preschools in my immediate area are also in churches or they are preschools of the "daycare" type.

Smile Lehigh Valley Preschools

I found a website that has preschool information on it...lists preschool by city/area... www.lehighvalleylittleones.com - it also shows more information like activities / sports etc.

Hope this helps!

Academy of Little Learners on Lower Macungie Rd. is not on the list either. It is not associated with a church, and although they do offer Daycare options, they, have a great pre-k program. When we moved here last year, we missed the registration times to get my child into places. We were on waitlists all over including Bethany and Cordonia. Someone reccomended ALL to me, and as it turned out it was perfect for our situation.

I used to teach and was a director of a Private Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten and I have been very impressed with what they are doing.
