Question The Geese!!

Why are there so many geese around here?

I see like hundreds of them in open fields eating lord knows what, and I see tons of them flying in formation overhead all the time.

So, what are they eating and aren't they supposed to fly south or somthing?

We have geese that live here year-round because the food supply never goes away. Some geese do migrate but I think some just go from field to field. In a flock around my area there is a white goose that hangs out with the canadian geese (very distinctive!) so it's easy to see it's the same flock at different fields.

austere is on a distinguished road
We love geese. My boarder collie enjoys herding them off of open land. At a previous house we lived at we had a job getting rid of the geese off the golf course. Our neighbors liked that we kept the yards goose poop free!
