Adding Heat Pump?
I have central air at my house and I wanted to add a heat pump for the winter to keep the house warm because of the price of oil is costly. I call a company they are telling me I need to increase my wattage from 100 to 200 amp and I need to upgrage the electric outlet. They are chargin me $7000 do the the job. I think thats too much and I need help on how do I go about getting that job done. Any one any advice?

Not sure what the cost of installing a heat pump but you should know that once the temps drop below 34 degrees the heat pump will not work so you still need another heat source. Call a few heating and A/C companies and get more then 1 estimate.

I agree with JJJ, The cost to upgrade your service can run up to $1000.00 or a little more I would think a heat pump with install would be less than they want unless they are talking about a ground source install. That could be pricy but check around.
