Default Questions about Easton

More particularly, 8th street area. I have not been to Easton in over a decade, but back then it had a bad rep. I just got divorced, and need to find a home under $160k. Almost impossible in NJ, but I have my eye on a place on 8th street, and was wondering how safe the area is. I have children ages 1, 3, 7 and 10. Two boys, two girls, and all of them have been raised on a private horse farm in Warren County, so I already know living there would be very different for them.

Anyone live in the Easton area that can tell me more about what its like there now?

DH works down there as a medic. He said he absolutely would not move to 8th St with your children. Some of the recent shootings have been very close to that area. He also suggested looking at least in Wilson Borough or West Easton for an inexpensive home in a bit better area.

Do you absolutely have to stay in the Easton area or would you be willing to move elsewhere?

Hellertown, Nazareth & other parts of Easton get good reviews.....

Thumbs down i agree

Ive lived her my entire life. 8th street is no place to raise babies. Heck Easton period is no place. I agree with perhaps looking in the wilson or west easton area.

How safe and appealing is Palmer? The schools, medical facilities and shopping centers? Are they easily accessible, say within a couple of miles radius to walking? I would appreciate any information about the quality of life in Palmer, Pa.

Just moved out of Wilson (16th and Liberty). Do yoursef a favor and stay away from the crack houses on 8th.

Palmer is one of the nicer areas of Easton, but still falls within Easton school district. My concern with Easton is my kids getting recruted for gangs starting in middle school.
