I start my search in the Center Valley/ Upper Saucon area, Also look in the Parkland and Northern East Penn SD. Your drive would probably be about 40mins for either location till you can pick up the train into center city. You can pickup the train in the North Wales - Abington area or Norristown -King of Prussia Area, whatever your more confortable with.

Why would you live in the Lehigh Valley if you are going to work in Philadelphia? There are many nice towns quite a bit closer. I live in Southern Lehigh school district, right on the southern edge of Lehigh County and it's a good hour and 15 minutes into Philadelphia WITHOUT accidents or rush hour delays. There are no public commuter trains in the Lehigh Valley, so as Jeff said, you would have to drive at least 30 minutes before you would even get to a train station. Not trying to discourage you from moving to this area but the commute would not be a good one.
