Hi-I will leave it to others to talk about taxes, cost of living, and other specifics. I can give you some general info because I grew up near there and my family now lives in the Lehigh Valley including my aunt in Nazareth. Nazareth is a small growing town that has maintained its small town feel. The growing part may be good or bad--traffic increase but also more shopping and restaurants. Most of the action is immediately outside of Nazareth proper but easy to access. It is a town for cement mills and used to have a dust problem which is now much better. Personally, I like Nazareth. The Lehigh Valley is a rapidly growing area and again negative and positive. I get angry when I visit to see all the beautiful cornfields turning into McMansions. I also think crime is a problem in at least parts of Easton. On the other hand, you can get about anything you need in terms of services and products and it is easy to get into NYC. There is an airport and lots of fine educational institutons, and excellent medical care available. It has some lovely farmland surrounding the area and you can live in a rural setting or in a city setting depending on where you choose. Palmer Township and Bethlehem are areas you should check out. I don't know too much about the Allentown area but heading down towards Bucks County there are some really nice suburban locales.

It is a nice town but I have it on high authority that a good portion of the population between 23 and 45 are addicted to Coke. Im not making some abrupt off the cuff statement I have facts to back it up. If I have to get other people on here to validate this I will!

Easton is the best place to live if you work in NYC. 78 is right there!

Default Loose cannon

I think Loose Cannon has a screw loose! I can't believe someone would make such a statement about the general population of Nazareth. My former church is in the center of Nazareth and I have many friends in that area, none of whom are addicted to Coke and all are respectable, honorable family people. It is a nice small community and a beautiful downtown. The outlying areas are Lower Nazareth, Upper Nazareth, and Bushkill Township. These townships are a bit more "suburban" compared to in-town. Don't hesitate to look into this area.

Hello,

I am hoping that some one can inform my husband and I about Nazareth, Pa. We are considering to move there by this summer 2007. My husband works in Whitehouse Station, NJ it's a better commute for him rather than where we live now in Pennington, NJ (near Princeton). Also, Nazareth seems way more affordable with the new construction of new homes in that area. I have read that Nazareth has an excellent school system, is that still true? We have 2 children, one who will be entering 1st Grade this coming September and then a younger son. As for leisure, are there things to do around town or outside of town...malls/recreation/restaurants? We just want to make sure we are moving to a place that is everything we could want...and a place that is not 'boring.' I would really love to hear some feedback from residents of Nazareth - the good and the bad. And does anyone know about the Easton school system? Or is Nazareth better for schooling? Thanks a lot!

Nazareth is a cute town, I have several friends who live there.

One thing - I would stay away from living right in town - there is a cement plant and if it's still in operation, dust gets everywhere. One of my friends moved just outside of town because she couldn't take the amount she got!
