Default PrePay Home Heating Oil

A local company just came out with their prepay price for next season and it is $3.52 a gallon.

This is a significant increase over last years prepay price of $2.37.

Those of you with oil heat. Are you planning on prepaying this year?

Yes, we will prepay again. Fritch is 3.52. But in the coming months other companies will set their prices and we can comparison shop.

Default Heating Oil

I'm in the process of purchasing a house that is heated with oil. How does the prepay for heat oil work? Does it mean that you get the summer price the entire year if you prepay, or is it only for 1 tank of oil? Any information would be appreciated.

No, you estimate how much you will use for the entire winter and prepay that amount at the prepay rate, and they come refill your tank at regular intervals. I just got another mailing from Fritch saying the 3.52 is sold out so now the price is 3.58.

Update: Fritch has sold out of their prepay oil. So although no one on here said they were prepaying with them, I guess lots of others out there decided it was the smart move to make. I hope not to be kicking myself when other companies release their prepay prices. Valentine--keep me updated when you get the Lehigh Fuels info.
