Driving from Quantico, to Annapolis to Lancaster area, headed to Maine) We will be there in the area in a few weeks and want to stop at a place or 2, and pickup some cheeses to try out.

Any places come to mind?

- Good selection of cheese, fresh made
- Cheddars
- Snack cheeses

And yes, if the store has a nice deli, that would be a bonus, or if in the same area there is a nice deli?

I LOVE Wegman's, stop in at ALL of them when I travel. Somewhat of a Grocery Store Junkie My kids think I'm weird.

Fresh Squeezed OJ, Deli One of the few places that carries Parma-Prosciutto in different ages. Which is why I'm also wondering about nice delis. They have a tendency of carring meats not found in local grocery stores. Great places in towns that have a "Little Italy" "Little Poland" and the likes

Looking for places that make the cheese on-site.

Will likely try to make our way to Intercourse, PA as there are a few nice deli's and cheese shops in the area

The only PA cheese factory that I am aware of and that has a retail area is the Leraysville Cheese Co. in Leraysville, PA in Bradford county near the New York State border. It is Amish owned. Upstate New York has a large number of artisan cheesemakers although I can't vouch for any of them. They also have loads of wineries many growing vitis vinifera or European grapes. Ask for recommendations in the New York forum.

Calandra’s Cheese in Nazareth. They are known for mozzarella and other Italian cheeses. It’s been years since i went, but it was very good.

Wegmans is always solid for a nice selection of cheese, as is Whole Foods. Both are in the Lehigh Valley and Lancaster.

For something more interesting and local check out the Allentown Farmer's Market, they have a highly rated cheese stand in there along with some other interesting food vendors.

Lancaster also has a very very nice farmers market in its downtown area called the Central Market which is very nice with a selection of local cheeses.

Contrary to what the other poster stated, Pennsylvania has a large number of local diary farms that produce their own cheeses.
