Unhappy Allentown Daycare

So I had a quick question about a daycare in Allentown, PA, well, it's not actually about the daycare, but about the "spa" that's above it. It's on Union Blvd, and called the "T-SPA." The daycare that JUST opened up below it seems great, and ideal for a single parent, offering off-hours - something really hard to find in the area, but my concern is the "spa" above it. For a lack of better words, it seems like a "massage/adult entertainment" place...if you get my drift. Who would want their children below that for 9 hours a day?! I'm really concerned, and in desperate need of these off hours, absolutely loving the daycare...but too many people have hinted what lies above it...and common sense too. It seemed like a red flag the minute I drove up. Can anyone fill me in/have any opinions? I'm from Jersey, and am trying to gain a sense of what's going on.

That certainly seems like a weird combo for businesses. Unfortunately, I don't anything about the spa or that area of Allentown. Anyone else?

I don't know anything about the "spa" you are talking about, but I say go with your gut on this one and keep looking for a daycare that meets your needs.

I think you already know what's going on upstairs. In my town we had a K-Spa (funny how these places always use a letter as their name) and after receiving complaints from residents, the police department did go in undercover and they were shut down within a few months. Maybe you'll be so lucky.

Yeah, even if you look it up on the internet, and simply Google "T-Spa, Allentown, PA" iot comes up under massage, and all that undercover talk that allows these places to get away with things "legally," but anyone that isn't ignorant can figure it out...my question, is why can't the police, or the town, or the inspector (they did just open - the daycare, that is, and had so many regulations. How can't these people know what's going on? It amazing me that someone can get away with this with a daycare underneath. It's so disappointing, as the daycare genuinely seems great, people - cleanliness - things for the kids to do - and of course the hours. I randomly popped in last night, and it really seems like a great place for kids - except of course this sick stuff upstairs...and, as a mother, I refuse to have my child share the same hallway with this nonesense. There's a buzzer to get into the daycare, and everything's locked, but once you walk into the back door, you either go left into the daycare, or straight up the stairs to the "spa" area. Even the daycare people said they thought that was going on, and that they only see men going up there. They even said they hoped someone called the authorities. This is all so nuts. I am stuck in such a bind, with a job that requires certain weekends, and I get out a half hour after all the daycares all get out. I'm a single mother with no family around, and this would've been ideal. The daycare people really did find a good idea with the hours - I've always said that I'm not the only one in need of it....always wondered why no one opened til later or weekends....it's a totally different day and age, and hardly no one is 9-5 anymore, and unfortunately they're too many accruing single parents out there. UGH..........

Default One Stop Shop the Allentown Way

One stop shop - hahaha the workers at the spa can drop their kids off at the daycare and their customers can do the same as well...now they need a little mall next door and it will be the perfect spot.

LMFAO

My son's karate school is next to Kim's "spa" in Lower Nazareth Township, same type scenario. The windows are all blackened, it is open 24 hours a day, there are "we support the FOP" stickers all over the front window, and the only clients of this "spa" are seemingly men 35+ yrs old.

Thankfully the karate school is relocating...but I certainly wouldn't want a daycare that was this close in proximity. Suppose it gets raided or something?
