I don't know the Lehigh Valley all that well, but my guess as to where you could find authentic Mexican food would be to go to the predominantly Hispanic parts of town, that is where most of them open mom-and-pop (or should I say madre y padre ) stores and restaurants. You won't find the authentic restaurants near the mall and big-box stores and chain restaurants. Problem is that seems to be the only place people look for something to eat anymore....why people would rather eat at chains instead of local places is beyond me.

Fajitas aren't even real Mexican food. As far as authentic, Taqueria La Lupita on 4th street on the South side is. Tulum (more Americanized) is a block away as well though I doubt either serves fajitas.

Somebody please help me so far I have had Cactus Blue and Tijauna Flats and have felt violated after spending $30 for a meal that was not good at all, I need some authentic mexican Food!!

I second the recommendation on Fiesta Ole. I grew up in San Antonio so I love Tex Mex and have spend lots of summers in little towns in Mexico. I loved Fiesta Ole and actually felt like I was "back home" in that restaurant. Fiesta Ole is worth the drive from Bethlehem, IMHO.

I went to Amigo Mio years ago and it was very good also. I never went back there simply because it had weird hours at the time and then I didn't remember how to find it. It's worth seeking out, though.

I'm glad I never tried Tortilla Flats, though I was tempted.

Cactus Blue is the only place I am familiar with.

On a side note - I went to Moravian College and would frequent Tortilla Flats quite often. However, last year several students got sick on tainted food. Revenue is down and I'm hesitant to go back.

La Lupita - Bethlehem, PA - Dine Indie

MySpace.com - Tulum - 28 - Male - US - www.myspace.com/tulum610

While La Lupita does not serve fajitas they are otherwise exceptional and I encourage you to eat there.

Not good advice. Don Pablos is a chain and it is not that great. As someone else stated go to locally owned places even if they are in bad neighborhoods. I just remembered on 12th and Turner in Allentown there is a Mexican eatery. It is very small and not ideal to eat inside. If you chose to eat inside it is very cramped. You also may buy Mexican canned goods and drinks. As far as juices please be aware that they are loaded with sugar. I ordered a Jumex at La Lupita and was mortified to learn that the drink had 40 something grams of sugar. Therefore, I just order water now wherever I go.
