The other restaurants located in various neighborhoods are usually Puerto Rican or Cuban as these groups have higher populations in the area. As far as Pr food, I think it is good but still overrated. I do not even think it's that spicy. mexican food is better. Im not that overly familiar with Cuban food to comment.

if this is the place i am thinking of, it is really good and authentic. it is very small and people wait outside until it opens up for dinner. when they open it is first come first serve. they put everyone in that fits and then they close the door!
if this is NOT the place i am thinking of please accept my apologies!

Tulum on Morton Street in between Vine and New Street by Lehigh University. Very small place, but makes very good authentic Mexican food.

I used to live in Emmaus and totally agree Fiesta Ole is the closest to Mexican food as you can get. There is a big difference in the flavor as to when he started the business. I asked the owner why the change. He stated that he had to Americanize the flavor.
I now live in the Land of REAL Mexican food, El Paso. I GAINED 30 bs in my first year and have been working hard to lose the weigh.

When we were in town last week we ate at a place called La Lupita. It wasn't bad. Not the best, but we don't know the other places to say if it's better or worse.
Bear in mind, we're from California originally and die a little more each time we move more eastward, so we have a taste for the good stuff.

My family relocated from the a small southern town and we too have been in search of good mexican food. To be sure, there is none in Bethlehem. I have heard that Don Pablos in Easton is your closest bet but as to the place you can go in and order a "number 8" and get served an enchilada, burrito and a taco by someone of latino decent, you will not find it in Bethlehem. How are you liking the Northeast so far?

I guess you did not see the previous post which mentioned La Lupita. If you are suggesting you ate there and it does not meet your standards, then I question your legitimacy. Furthermore, Your credibility is further called into question by mentioning Don Pablos. That is straight up chain garbage!

It is responses like this one, from an attitude like that, that makes me miss home more and more!!!! I'm sorry, I bet La Lupita is great but from everyone we have asked around here the only one mentioned has been Don Pablo's which I imagine is about as good as Chile's. I'll be sure to check out your suggestion....

Ditto on Tulum. I practically lived there when I was taking classes at Lehigh- awesome food!
