Default Oil Heat

Can someone with oil heat tell me approximately how many gallons of oil they go through a year in Bethlehem? The house we are looking at is approx 1700 sq feet, 45 years old, oil hotwater baseboard heat. Oil is also used to heat the hotwater. I know the weather has been mild for a couple of years but what's the average?

Thanks in advance............

I have oil heat with baseboard hot water. I am not located in Bethlehem, but maybe this would help anyway. We have a four bedroom home (finished basement is also heated) and a family of six. These are the total gallons of oil purchased for each year:
2006: 978
2005: 1148
2004: 1504

The past two winters were much milder than 2004. I do remember January 04 as being particularly brutal. Anyway, hope this helps.

the previous owners should be able to allow you to contact their oil company and they could tell you exactly how much per year they use. I own 4 homes as rentals, all oil heat and have a budget payment, 9 months of payments none over 70 dollars per month. Also check the age of the heater, old ones still work but aren't as good as the newer ones.
