Good part of Easton
Is there a good part of Easton? I'd like to be within commuting distance of NYC. Don't care about schools. Housing costs in West Easton look very reasonable. Is that a better bet than Easton?

Up behind the Lafayette College is nice. Sullivan trail, to Richmond ,and the homes off of Thomas Drive area...........
You can hop right onto 22/78 and off to the city. It is actually called Forks but goes under Easton. They have their own Police Dept. Also they have a great grocery store close, some good restaurants and there are back roads that lead to 248 and those stores. Regal Theaters, Walmart, Sams, Doctors and other services.
Housing costs are good for that area. New homes, some with better lots then others.......but that general area is nice.

It depends of what you are looking for: a house, an apartment, a townhome ? Do you want to be in Downtown Easton or one of the suburban areas ( like Williams or Forks)? "West" Easton is actually the sketchy part of town. The area west of the Center Square is not as nice as the area east of the Square to the river. I looked at a number of houses in College Hill and found that it was a bit too suburban and "family oriented" for me. I am looking for a more urban, metro fit. It all depends of exactly what your needs are. Good luck!

How's the area near Easton Hospital? I'm looking for a 2/2 house in a safe, relatively quiet area.

I think the ride to Easton Hospital from Forks is not a long or difficult ride at all.
I doubt you would want a home right in the hospital area.
Safe, quiet, would probably be in Forks..........There are townhomes, older homes, and new homes in that area. Its only five to 15 minutes to larger urban areas.
Safe, because you have your local police station. Quiet.......There is a local park for walking, walking trails ( biking). Another quiet town is Stockerton, just beyond Forks.
Great locations for travels to NY or NJ.

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it. I think I'll concentrate my search in the Forks area.
