Question NJ to Lehigh County- PLEASE HELP

Hello fellow NJ relocaters and long-time PA residents- I need your HELP. We currently live in Hudson County NJ but have been actively looking for a home in the Lehigh Valley (esp. in East Penn School District). We currently live in an urban district and although we’ve become accustomed to the separatist mentality, we are definitely ready for a change.

We have recently taken a “Realtor Tour” of the Lehigh Valley and loved the area, but is it too good to be true? We are currently looking at a house in Lower Macungie and are looking for a neighborly area- are we looking on the right spot? Is there a “downtown” in the area outside of the big-box retailers? Any info/comments on the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rebecca
