Default Shopping in the Lehigh Valley

Now that we've "discussed" the housing market around here, I thought we might have a light thread about shopping in the area- what we have and what we would like.

Last night my daughter and I went to Martini's and Makeovers at the Promenade Shops. We joined throngs of women shopping/window shopping at Chico's, American Eagle, Coldwater Creek and Ann Taylor loft - and more!
Welcome to The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley Our motto is sale or no buy when either of us shop so this was a hunt for bargains. Most of the stores had a 15% to 20% discount for the special event and when added to a 25% to 30% discount, there were some good deals. My daughter just got a job teaching so she was looking for some professional clothes. She liked Ann Taylor Loft better then my fave's LL Bean and Chico's. Her old favorite was Old Navy so it was interesting to see the new look! There were also makeovers, massages and free snacks. We didn't take advantage of the former but did have some snacks and drinks. All in all a fun evening out.

Where is your favorite place to shop? What are we missing?

was this a special event or something? i live no kidding 2 minutes away from there TOPS (well that depends on the traffic on 378 - trying to cross it off of colesville sometimes takes up to 5 minutes!!!!!)

glad you had a good time - i love those shops.

wowbaby, It was advertised on their website but I found out about it because I subscribe to their on-line newsletter. I just delete anything that doesn't interest me. I also live just outside of Coopersburg, on the other side of 309 - maybe 10 minutes max to the Promenade shops, depending on the pesky 309 lights. http://www.thepromenadeshopsatsaucon...ilRegister.cfm

I love the Promenade - I go there all the time!

I also go to the Lehigh valley mall because I like their new outdoor shops as well.

Honetly, I think the only thing we are missing is a Trader Joe's. People aslo say Costco, but I spend too much money there so I'm fine without it.

ditto, I end up going to Promenade and Lehigh Valley Mall. I feel the area could use one more shopping mall, so I wish the plan for the Summit on Rt.33 and Rt.78 hadn't fallen through. There really isn't anything east of downtown Bethlehem that gives us any significant shopping options.

EDIT: I just remembered the SandsBethWorks casino in construction in Bethlehem, so I am hopeful that they offer a good lineup of stores when all is said and done. I'll believe it when it's here. Just keeping my fingers crossed that they don't downgrade their plans with the economy the way it is.
