Easton Express-Times Ripoff
I just wanted to pass the word along to all of you that it has come to my atteniont that certain localities get a far better rate on the paper than others do.
For example, residents of Mount Bethel and Bethlehem only pay $48.00 per year while the many of us pay $91.00.
I have dropped my subscription until I receive a better deal.

Why buy any of these rags? Just use the internet. Papers are spin marketers and print lies and deception. Check this out for economic topics that are truthful!

This is disturbing. However, for what its worth, the Express Times is a much better paper than the fallen Morning Call. The MC is controlled and sugar coats things as a way of protecting certain people. The Express Times does'nt care. They print the truth. Plus, their entertainment section is much better.

Any time your Express-Times subscription is due to renew, it is worth a call to the paper. Any time I've asked for a "deal" in this circumstance, they have given me one.
As far as I know, there is no one price per geographic area. You just need to call down there and basically negotiate a good deal for yourself.

we subscribe to both the morning call and the Philadelphia Inquirer. We've cancelled the Inquirer a few times. Every time we drop the Inquirer they call us up and offer a great deal. You might try that.

EmmausRocks: Agreed, the paper is a rag and I do get most of my news from online, but my wife likes getting the paper, especially for the local news, crossword puzzle's, and the Sunday coupons; most of which can be found elsewhere also.
LooseCannon: You're right, the Express-Times doesn't care what they print, but that doesn't always make it the truth.
karen_s and toobusytoday: Oh believe me, I already called and put this issue out there to a superviser in the Customer Service Department and the Subscriptions Department. They wouldn't cut me any deal and so I cancelled.
They don't know what they're doing evidently. With the rise of internet news and the current state of the economy, most papers and big papers like the New York Times even are taking a hit. People arn't going to blow their little bit of disposable income on this stuff.

Papers will be a thing of the past within 20 years. You'll have a few major papers but all these little local ones will either be free or gone.

EmmausRocks: Right on. The time is nigh and the Express seems to welcome it.
