I was wondering if someone would recommend a school district if my husband is commuting to Whitehouse Station NJ. I saw a lot of info on Parkland SD but I think that would be a long commute, right? Thanks for your help.

Wilson, outside of Easton, is a good school district. Not as highly rated as Parkland, but it is good and as close to NJ as you can get.

I guess it depends how far your husband is willing to commute. It's about forty miles to Allentown from Whitehouse Station, Parkland school district starts just west of Allentown.

I worked in Whitehouse station for a few months while on a project. It was actually a shorter commute there than the company's other location in West Point, PA. I would agree with mattj, on Wilson School District. There are a lot of good homes in Willams Township (The area sound of I-78 between the Delaware River and Hellertown) that are part of Wilson SD. Another suggestion would be the area around Hellertown, PA. It's a little bit further from NJ than Williams Township, but it has more of a town center. I don't know much about Saucon Valley School District, but I believe it's pretty good. And since I'm in a map making mood today - Here's a map of the Northampton County School Districts: http://loc8.us/extras/citydata/tgr42095uni.rss - Google Maps

As a resident of Williams Township, I definitely think it's the best place to commute to NJ from. Almost any location in the township is at most a 5+ min drive to the I-78 exit (I live on the southern most edge and it takes 6~7 min). You can get to Newark in about exactly an hour.

I also agree that Hellertown and Center Valley areas are good, but they will increase your commute time by 10 and 20 min respectively. It's not much but, double it, and multiply 5 and you'll see how much time you lose over a week.

As for the entire school district, I can't really comment on it, but I've heard the elementary school is really good.

Bethlehem and Saucon Valley are both good school districts. If you are looking at elementary/middle school age, the area of the city in Bethlehem is important. Hanover township is close to route 512 with great neighborhoods and schools and Bethlehem township is close to easton with great schools as well.
