Regardless of consistency, I will tell you these folks like to have parades that clog up the streets.

In Bethlehem, there are a lot of Puerto Ricans. The Steel decided it was cheaper to import US Citizens from Puerto Rico than to pay local Americans to work for them, and this started the tradition of Puerto Ricans in Bethlehem. They're not illegal immigrants, and they have some awesome food.

Seems like Puerto Ricans and parades go hand in hand.
When I lived in NYC, the Puerto Rican Day Parade was a huge city-wide city-affecting event.

Yeah, that means it blocks me from getting where I want to go. You dont need a parade to show culture and diversity. You can have museums for that, art shows, restaurants, and many others that dont interfere with people trying to get around town.
Allentown has one, then bethlehem has to have one. ts ridiculous.

The Germans/Moravians have Musikfest, the Irish and Scottish have Celticfest (if they can raise the money this year).. Why shouldn't the Puerto Ricans have a parade? Museums are good at bringing visual arts, but these festivals exhibit ethnic food and music, and are a great time!

I'm just not a fan of access to roads being blocked, whether its the PR Parade, Musikfest or Celticfest.
Why should the majority of the public be inconvenienced for these things? This is why I try to avoid bethlehem as much as possible. Too much going on in the streets. I understand its only certain times of the year, but its still a hassle...I'm all for ethnicity, dont get me wrong...just dont want my streets blocked
