moving to allentown is on a distinguished road
Default Housing in Allentown/Lehigh Valley

I used to live in allentown and I will be moving back soon. I wanted to know what the housing market was like. Obviously a lot of areas in the US were hit hard, what have housing prices been doing and what does the market look like for the future?
Thanks!

The housing market in PA is overall pretty stable. The worst hit area would be suburban philly. The Lehigh Valley, Pittsburgh, and the rest of the state didn't see much of a bubble, so nothing to burst. Unfortunately you won't be able to find the massive deals here that you would in other parts of the country that took a hit. If anything, it's quite the opposite. Everyday I see a steady stream of people from NJ coming into the Lehigh Valley and I don't think that's going to stop anytime soon. That's not to say that there aren't deals, but it's not even close to what's going on in CA, FL, and other areas.

The Lehigh Valley is reported to have increased 88% and is expected to stabilize at 70%. Nothing can be known for certain but prices did rise substantially and from the listings I'm seeing people may be asking more than last year in the low to mid range.
