My husband and I are considering moving to Easton, PA. How are the schools? Are there things to do in Easton? Anything we need to know about this town - the best and worst? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

We also were thinking on moving to Easton last year. We went up in Aug to look around there were some nice areas and than there were Very bad areas. We changed our minds quickly put it that way. We are now looking into Pike County. Don't let this discourage you. It just was not my cup of tea. I also have small children. I am not sure about the schools up there we never made it that far.

A lot of Easton just flooded this past week. Some of it is very low lying and right next to the Delaware River. Check out all property very carefully. I also agree with Kimwick regarding it has both nice areas and very bad areas.

Default Forks township

Look in Forks Township if you want to live in Easton. It has an Easton address, but is higher on a hill, and more suburban. Vey nice area to live.

I live in Wayne County, just to the north of Pike County. We are right along the Delaware River and New York state. About 2 1/2 hours from NYC. Lots of open farm land and I can attest to a great school system here in Wayne County. Our sister district in Pike is also very good!

Here for questions if I can help!

I currently work in Easton. It has it's bad areas and good areas like Wilson. In the bad areas the people are unbelievably stupid! You will be shocked! If you can ignore these people plus the wanna bee gangstas from NY you will be fine.

Default Run far, far, away!

We moved here several years ago from out of state. We would never make this mistake again. The schools are a total disaster. We had to put our kids in private school to get any decent education at all. Easton is broken into 5 or 6 individually run townships. They don't interact or play nice together, but share two different school districts. There is a post below stating that Forks Twp is the best place to live in Easton if you have to move here. We've been there and moved after 4 years to another area. We are not clicky, keep up with the jones types and that is all you will find in Forks. There is only one grocery store, and the traffic patterns are horrible. All traffic in and out only travels down one road. If you have any choice at all not to move there - RUN!

Williams Twp is just below Easton and seems very nice. More bang for your buck.
