I saw that Emeril Lagassi's restaurant at the Sands in Bethlehem opened recently. Just wondering if anyone has made it there yet and what they thought of the restaurant and casino.

And here's one from the Morning Call - Emeril's Chop House is a sure bet at Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem -- themorningcall.com

Sounds yummy!

I had dinner there this past Sunday night. Everything was excellent. The dessert was just good, not excellent (some chocolate cake thing whose name I forget) but the salad, steak, and sides were top notch. The steak was as good as or better than any I've had at Mortons, Capital Grille, etc.

The servers were great, but a little more laid back than I expected. They were very attentive though. Since it just opened, it was hard to get a reservation, so what we did get was at an odd time.

The dining room is nicely appointed with comfortable brown fabric chairs. People were wearing everything from golf shirts and khakis to suits.

I'm sure the local "$9.99 diner special" crowd is going to be blasting this place pretty hard (if the Morning Call comments are any indication), but to folks used to fine dining prices, it's worth a try. I think my 9 or 10 oz filet was $39 and the sides were around $6 each, but generously sized.

Most menu items are actually a few dollars cheaper than Shula's. The markup on wine by the bottle isn't as bad as some other fine dining restaurants I've been to.

I'll be going back, but I can't afford a place like this more than a couple of times a year.

It is a good restaurant but i ate by myself. The man next to me had bread served to him. I was not asked or given any bread at the bar. I had to ask for water and the barmaid did not refill my glass. Needless to say that barmaid did not get a tip.. Remember this barmaids, bartenders and servers, you will be surprised who will tip you the most...I just won 10,000.00 and i used to work in the service industry and good service would have been good for you since i just had an appetizier.

We were at his New Orleans Fish House in Vegas, and we weren't all that impressed. I honestly think Phillips in A.C. is better.
Friends of ours were at his restaurant in Miami and they loved it.

There have been numerous times I had a thirty dollar meal, and ended up wishing I would of gone to a 9.99 diner.

IMHO. Shula's is the best steakhouse, with the exception of Sullivan's in King of Prussia.

We have been there a few times and each time the service was awesome and the so was the food!

My only piece of advice is to park on the left side of the parking garage - near valet - so that you enter on the NON-SMOKING side of the house. One time we didn't do this and had to walk through tons of smoke to get to the restaurant - not cool.

Enjoy!

I went with a few girlfriends the summer (this thread was started almost 2 years ago) after it opened and I thought the food was just wonderful. Especially loved the Calamari. The prices were awfully high, but we figured that since we were going without our husbands, it was like paying half price!
