For those who are thinking of building in the Valley a new law has been passed in the State of Pennsylvania. The law requires all Home Improvement Builders to now register with the State of Pennsylvania.

You can find out if there has been problems with the home improvement contractor in the past or you can yourself file complaints concerning a registered builder. But all valid home improvement / building companies must register and must meet the new laws' requirements.

The information concerning the new law is in todays Morning Calling. I am posting the link to the article. I know I have read on this site that many have had problems with certain home improvement contractors / builders and continue to. This maybe helpful to you, but it certainly will be for those who are looking to build in the future.

This statement comes from the article.

To address this problem, Pennsylvania adopted a law that takes effect today. To stay legal, home improvement contractors must register with the state attorney general's office and use contracts that meet the law's requirements.

Starting today, make sure your contractor is registered -- themorningcall.com (http://www.mcall.com/news/opinion/anotherview/all-yv_venema0617.6933137jul01,0,3797615.story - broken link)
