We are looking to move with 3 middle school aged children to either Souderton, Coopersburg or the Pennsburg area. We are looking for greatschools and a sense of community that is very lacking where we live now?? Any advice??

all three towns are a bit south of this area - Coopersburg is in the Lehigh Valley and the other two are in Bucks County...Most of the posters on this board are more familiar with the Pocono Area and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Metro area, although you may get SOME response...
We have some pretty nice towns and good schools up this way, if you're interested...

I moved you down here mamashop, because Coopersburg is here in the Lehigh Valley (where I live actually) and Souderton and Pennsburg are south and southwest of Coopersburg, respectively. If you do a search of Coopersburg you'll see lots of ramblings from me. I'll see if I can pull up some posts or threads.... http://www.city-data.com/forum/lehig...ooperburg.html and here's another one http://www.city-data.com/forum/lehig...se-family.html
Unfortunately, there are not too many posters on any of the PA forums that post about Pennsburg or Souderton. Both towns are nice, housing is probably higher then Coopersburg and the Southern Lehigh School District.
A big plus for you with three middle school kids is that we just opened up a brand new intermediate school for grades 4-6. The middle school is grades 7-8. Those two buildings plus the High School are within walking distance of each other on Preston Lane and route 378. All of our schools are very good, community is great and tight knit but lots of newcomers too. Come get a taste of the area at the Halloween parade on Oct. 11, 3 p.m., rain date Oct. 18. It's right on Main Street in Coopersburg.
There's also an open house for the community for the new school on October 25th from 1-3. Southern Lehigh School District

Looking for new neighborhood
we where looking for a community, or a sense of community, its not what it is cracked up to be....i will never live in a community again....next house will be outside a community....the first couple of days while my wife was unpacking, i was tearing stuff down, a neighbor came by with some coffee and cookies, two days later im being turned in by the same neighbors for having a little trash in a pile (because of me tearing stuff down), then i was turned in on dec for not having the house fully painted(its too cold to paint on the outside) i was told to do it or face a 100 dollar a day fine until it gets painted.....THERE IS NO SENSE OF COMMUNITY ANYMORE, IF YOU TRULY FIND ONE LET ME KNOW.......

A little pile of trash and an half painted house is probably pretty subjective. If someone is working on their house then yes, you can expect some stuff but I would think you would rent a dumpster if you would be really pulling stuff down. As to the half painted house, well..... I think that would be a huge priority before winter just to maintain the integrity of the building.
I like my town and my neighborhood.

Coopersburg is a great little town. We actually considered moving there years ago, but it was a little too far for work. We life in Telford (bordering Souderton) and LOVE it!! I am never moving, ever. We have one daughter in the Pennridge school district and have no complaints. Friends in Souderton have children attending Souderton school district and no complaints from them either. Souderton/Telford was recently added to the Classic Towns initiative - www.classictowns.org. There's so much going on in our area throughout the year and it's a very family friendly atmosphere.
