Generally, Teaching positions are hard to get in the area and there is a hiring freeze in Bethlehem School District. I know people that have been working as aides and subs for years, just hoping to get a classroom position anywhere in the area and they are certified in PA. The certification is a whole other issue. You will not be able to teach in PA until you get that -

Pennsylvania has 235 colleges in the state and most of them offer an education major. So, every year there are literally thousands of students graduating and certified and looking for a minuscule number of jobs. In my school district this year there were less then a handful of hires. The reason for the popularity of jobs is that our teachers are well paid and the teachers unions are strong- if you get hired, you are pretty much set for thirty years unless you seriously screw up.
BUT, once you are certified and if you are willing to work in one of the urban districts your prospects might not be that bad.
