Relocating to Bethlehem--have two children middle school areas. Need to know safe areas and good schools. Will be in area soon looking for housing. Will be working in Bethlehem but do not have to live in the city--what towns outside of Bethlehem would you recommend? Thanks...

My neck of the woods is nice - Coopersburg and Center Valley (Southern Lehigh School District). Nearby to Bethlehem is Hellertown and Saucon Valley School District. If you do a search here for Coopersburg, you can see what I've written about my town.

Ummm, only if you want schools that are perfoming below the state and the county average.... I like Bethlehem but the schools are just not good.

What don't you like about them? Could you be more specific about which schools you do not like and why? I may be moving there shortly, and want to know as much as I can about them. As it is summer now, it's a little tough to contact the schools directly. Besides, opinions of parents matter more than someone from the school trying to promore good PR.
