Question Discount furniture shopping?

Does anyone know of any nice discount furniture stores in the Lexington area? Or maybe Louisville or Cincinnati? If and when we move to Kentucky we will be needing some new things. I am looking forward to an updated but still traditional look. Does anyone have any ideas? I also love touring homes and decorator showhouses and garden tours. Are there any in these areas? I don't mind traveling a little way.

As far as furniture stores, I have shopped around and I think Ashely furniture in Louisville has the best quality for a lesser price. You can check out homearama in Louisville July 14-19th (see homearama.com) for a tour of homes and decorator showcases.

I like Ashely as well. Pretty nice stuff, although I'm not sure they qualify as a discount store. But you may get the best value for the dollar there.

Value City may be the cheapest, but obviously their quality will not be as good.

Thanks. I am familiar with Value City but I haven't been to one in a long time. Ashley Furniture sounds nice and I will check that one out. I would love to attend the tour of homes, but I am not sure I will be in town then.

There are many consignment shops located throughout the city selling cheap furniture. One great one is eydia on Mellwood Ave. If you go there, they will give you recs for similar stores. You would be surprised what you can find as these shop owners know the cooolest stuff, and although it may be used, you find some real treasures if you look hard (even contemporary styles).

Tons of them! All over, too. Most are probably on Bardstown Road but there are some nice ones in Middletown.
