Hey guys, me and my family are moving to Lexington next summer when I transfer to UK. My husband is a diesel mechanic, going back to school to be a firefighter. Are there any jobs for a diesel mechanic there? I've tried to look online but I haven't had much luck. I'm also a CNA, so obviously I will be looking for a new job either at a hospital or a nursing home. We're willing to spend up to $1000/month on rent but would preferably like to spend less. We don't mind living in an apartment complex but would prefer a house. Would love a commute of less than 30 minutes. We have one child, he'll be 2 when we move. I would like a good elementary school because we don't know how long we'll be renting. We would love to be near a park of some sort to take our son to play. Oh, and pie of course

No idea about diesel engineer jobs here, but our Sunday papers are loaded with help-wanted ads for CNAs.

Lots of rental choices in your price range. If you prefer a house, check out the Southland-Twin Oaks area, which has good schools, with Southland Park (big pool, playground, baseball and tennis courts, walking areas, adjacent to school campuses which expand public space) and shopping nearby, along with well-kept 1950s ranch houses and Cape Cods with nice yards with trees. It's very convenient to three of Lexington's five hospitals, and not that far from a fourth one, while about two miles from the UK campus.
