Hello,

I have spotted standard donkeys (very well handled, one foal born 1 month ago, 2 jennets and a jack), horses (not what most folks are interested in: small appaloosas, most are not saddle broke but all are well handled).

I am looking at moving and can't keep my accumulation <sigh>. My family and I have loved them but really need to find good homes for them. I have given several away but am getting to the ones that we would really prefer selling or getting offers for.

Could you give me some suggestions on where to post them? I have tried Craigslist but NO ONE has responded at all unless I was offering them for free.

Thank you!

I think you posted about this previously - I remember responding to such a post and suggesting contacting the Kentucky Horse Park for suggestions about any clubs or organizations for appaloosa and/or donkey owners. They should have contacts for such organizations.

There is a big overpopulation of many horse breeds just now, unfortunately - friends who raise miniatures have stopped breeding foals and are having a very hard time selling some of their horses and have had to cut their asking prices considerably. Feeding 27 horses twice a day is getting old...so I can understand your plight. Are your prices realistic, in light of the present market conditions?

Good luck...

CraigCreek, Thank you so much for your patience in responding. We have also significantly altered our prices. From giving some away to asking much less than we ever paid for them.

You are right. Feeding to many over time and as our lives and abilities change we have to change our setup with the horses. I guess it is really tough for many these days. Hopefully something will change, in the meantime: THANK YOU for your suggestions. I will see what I can find out.
