Default Questions about the area

I am trying to get a job in Kentucky and doing a little research before I make a decision. First off, does anyone know anything about a company called Corman and Associates? I would love some feedback on them if there is anyone out there. Anyways, the company is located in the south eastern part of Lexington and I was wondering where would be a good place to live that is safe. I am married and have a six month old baby and want to rent for my first year there. Is it fairly easy to get from one side of Lexington to the other or should I look for a place to stay near work?

Also, since I have a six month old, I would need to find a pediatrician for her. Does anyone have any recommendations for this at all? Thank you for any information you all can give me.

I'm not familiar with Corman & Assoc but can comment on your other 2 inquiries. Even with rush hour traffic you can usually get from one end of town to the other in less than 1/2 hour.
We go to Mike McKinney at Lexington Clinic's Veteran's Park location. We have gone there for nearly 10 years and have always been very pleased. He has 2 small children himself so he has practical knowledge as well as book knowledge (he's very intuitive in other words). We've always been seen promptly.
Most areas of town are safe. In general there are some rougher areas on the northwest side and some areas of downtown. My husband's business is in an area of downtown that some would consider unsafe yet he's never had any problems.

Thanks for the information. I also forgot to ask if anyone knew of any good churches around Lexington. We are looking for either a Baptist or Non-Denominational church.

Cormans - Isn't in SE Lexington, but is on the north side. It's near Eastland Parkway. That part of town isn't generally thought of as the best, but Floyd drive where Cormans is, is basically an industrial area. I shop around this time of year for Christmas decorations at Cormans. You wouldn't want to live around this area... but there are nice homes in the north end. Out in the Hamburg area, out Bryan Station Rd and out Richmond Rd would be fairly close.

Pediatricians - The above recommendation of Mike McKinney is good. I personally know Mike and his family (use to go to church with them). He is a good person and a good physician. You might want to also consider Pediatric and Adolescent Assoc. They are the oldest pediatric practice in Lexington and have seen probably the majority of kids who have grown up in Lexington, including my own. They have two locations with one on the south side (Harrodsburg Rd) and one in the SE (Richmond Rd). I would recommend Dr. Ison or Dr. Revelette in that group for a new family.
