Default Half-Day Kindergarten?

Just moved to Lexington and am looking for half-day kindergarten options. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

My info is far from current, but there are numerous church-affiliated half day kindergartens which might be of interest - they are not heavily religion focussed, although most do include some religious material - saying grace before snack time, Bible stories, perhaps Bible-oriented crafts...

I believe the public schools also offer a half-day option, but could be mistaken. Half-day course were offered in the past, but as noted, my info is not up to date.

The public library may maintain a list of local kindergartens with additional information - seems to me that used to be the case, but my little folks haven't been little for quite some time.

We have 3 year old twins who spent the past year at Temple Adath Israel's half-day preschool (goes up through age 5). The facility is not super-glamorous (though in good shape and well-stocked), but the individuals running the program (esp. the Director Katherine Henry) are WONDERFUL: caring, organized, and excellent at making the children feel welcome and safe. Our twins learned so much this past year, academically and socially. Don't be put-off by its affiliation with a Jewish temple -- many of the students there are not Jewish, and the Jewish aspect is primarily cultural, not religious indoctrination. I cannot speak more highly about it. (I have no other personal affiliation with the preschool.) The program runs from 8:30 to 1.

I second the recommendation of Temple Adath Israel. My daughter went there for two years and loved it. There was a great teacher/student ratio and, as DHI said, everyone there was caring toward the kids and she learned a lot. We are not Jewish and there was little religious teaching (She did love the hallah on Friday though). Mrs Henry was my one of my daughter's teacher and she was wonderful in that job and I am sure she does a great job as director. Call and check it out
