Default Lexington School

We are considering applying for a job in Lexington. Please tell me about the schools in and around Lexington. Thanks in advance!

They vary a little bit from district to district of course but it really depends on if you are looking for public or private? If you are looking for a good private school, I highly recommend St. Mary in Paris...It's only 15-20 minutes from Lexington. I'd be happy to help you with more specifics---where would you be moving here from?

We currently live in Midlothian, VA (outside of Richmond). We haven't even applied for the job so I haven't even started to think about what area we would live in. Heck, I don't know where the facility is even located. My son isn't quite one yet, but I want to make sure that I can provide him with a good education before we consider applying for the job! DH isn't opposed to driving so we would probably just prefer to live in the best school district (if we get that far).

I moved to the Lexington area from Waterloo, Iowa. The schools in Lexington are supposed to be among the top in Kentucky, but they are a big step down from the Iowa schools. Moving next door to a school doesn't mean your kids won't be bussed somewhere across town. It is ridiculous at times.
