Lincoln/Sudbury is a very fancy suburb of Boston and considered to be one of the snobbier by some other suburbs. It is a beautiful area and Boston is a very cool town, so I think you would enjoy that. If you end up going to college in Boston, I think you would really enjoy yourself there--it's a wonderful place to be a collegian.

Awesome, Micah Girl. I think the location sounds really nice for teebird, but the overall circumstances he's dealing with not so nice. sigh.

Thanks everyone for all of your information. I'm hoping that I'll be able to finish out senior year before this happens, but you never really know...

DKWebber is on a distinguished road
I have lived in Lynn, Revere, and Malden, Which are north of Boston. About two years ago. I moved from malden to Easthamption after my wife and I retired. Which is middle of MA. Gods country with very friendly people like Cambridge MA. And now planning to move to Sewanee Creek near Tracy City TN for its beautiful landscapes. Also I thought it had the best stable climate. Before I starting reading the posts here.

So what was your overall impression of MA? I just have been trying to find out everything I can about Lincoln/ Sudbury and Framingham as well.

Default Lived in Mass for 17 years now

Mass. is beautiful. The Sudbury area is VERY pricey, it's a ritzy area, gorgeous but you'll pay dearly to live there, anywhere that close in to Boston - inside 495 - gets pricier and pricier. Grew up in southern Illinois, so I remember what real summer heat/humidity feels like. Although we probably don't get QUITE as many hot days in Mass., we get plenty, and also lots of humidity. My husband, also from southern Illinois, is forever telling people how mild summer here is, and I just shake my head at that. Mosquitoes can carry you away, you need a screened porch if you want to enjoy your yard. We can have very snowy winters and a fair amount of pretty bitter cold, too - varies from year to year. But they are prepared with road crews here and lots of locals contract with cities to plow roads in their area. But no doubt it is beautiful and we've loved living here. Expensive area for retirement folks, though, we'll be leaving in a year or two. We live in Upton, terrific small town of about 8000 35 miles SW of Boston. I highly recommend this area, by the way, plenty of shopping 5-10 miles in any direction from us and lots of malls within 20-30 minutes. In Boston, drivers simply won't make eye contact, the traffic is so congested that's how people deal with it. Further out it gets quite a bit friendlier, but at rush hour folks can get a bit rude pretty much everywhere, can't miss that green light! Housing here is very expensive, same thing for land. But I'll miss it!
