My husband and I are interested in Lexington KY but before we think about this area we want to ensure that there are lots of opportunities for adult education, lifelong learning, continuing education - or whatever the city calls it there.
Specifically we are interested in musical opportunities, community orchestra, community band, choral groups, recorder groups, and also are interested in art classes of all sorts.
Can someone who lives in Lexington help us with where to start looking, or advise us which colleges or groups host these activities?
When my Dad retired he got bored with retirement life, and went back to college (he had already went and completed college several times in his life), but he enjoyed this because he said it kept his mind fresh...and he found out that if there are room in classes, college in Kentucky was free for people over 65....looks like it might still be.
The Bell House in Lexington offers free recreational opportunities for seniors...open to the public for anyone over 60. LexingtonKy.gov : Senior Adults
Interestingly enough reading some of the information, I see that I can qualify for a few of these programs...
AARP keeps mailing me information that I qualify as a Senior now, so I guess that makes sense.
Yes, you qualify but you have to get a few more years on you before the real benefits come your way
