My boyfriend and I will be traveling through the Lexington area this week.. (coming up I 75) I'm not familiar with the area at all. Does anyone know of any good restaurants with vegetarian options we could stop at for lunch? We like all different kinds of foods and prefer locally owned restaurants.
We were also wondering what the Whole foods was like. It is large with ready to eat prepared food? We have been in some that have different themed restaurants and some that just have a salad bar.

Is there anything else we should check out while we are in Lexington? We have a couple hours to burn.

Thanks!

If you're into crafts, check out Berea (I-75 exits 76 & 77). They have crafts stores everywhere. There is also a nice hiking trail at Berea College Forest just 5 miles off I-75.

Cumberland Falls is also located just off I-75 near Corbin. It is the 2nd largest waterfall in water volume in the US.

Alfalfa's is on Main St and has great vegetarian fare. Right across the street is the main library. There are also some art galleries in that general vicinity. If you want to stretch your legs in a beautiful setting go to the Arboretum. There are 2 miles of paved paths.
There is a cafe at Good Foods Coop that has vegetarian fare as well.

Natasha's may have some as well but I'm not sure.
