gate house apartments (Liberty: rental, houses, safe area)

can anyone give me any feedback on Gatehouse apartments, safe area etc

I don't know anybody that has lived there, but for what it is worth, I have never heard anybody say anything bad about the place. From what I see, the complex is on a bus line and they appear to be reasonably well maintained.

i have a buddy that had lived there for about 5 years. and didn't have many problems. when i first came to Lex in 95 it was a shady place and I think there was a major overhaul or management change, as he lived there up till 2006 and it seemed fine when i went to visit him. it is on liberty road and as pointed out it is on a bus route, i pass by it daily and the bus stop is just out front.
Liberty Rd on the whole is pretty safe as best i know, and I have lived in the Winburn & Woodhill areas since coming to KY in 95 and those are 2 areas known to be a little rough, it's all what you make of it though.

My mother and niece both lived in those apartments and did not report anything really bad. Gatehouse also had homes for rent on a street across from the apartment community, which were very nice, I lived there for a year or so and they were great. If you can, get one of the rental houses instead of the apartments. If you aren't able to do that, please visit the BBB website and other forums to find other info on those apartments for yourself, especially pay close attention to maintenance details and fine print !!!
