Moving boxes
Anyone know any good spots for finding boxes? I don't need that many, I am moving a 2 bedroom apartment this weekend and haven't found any yet. I read on U Hauls website that they have reuse boxes at U Haul locations, is this true in Lexington? Thanks!

We just moved and bought some at Lowes. Think I have seen some at Home Depot too but we shop more at Lowes. They have different sizes. That's the one bad thing about recycling cardboard. Used to you could go to the grocery and they would have some you could have. If you know someone who works at a grocery, you might see if they can save you some. My son works at a Food Giant and he saved us some.

We bought some at Wal-Mart (several different sizes). Wal-mart gave us free ones too when we asked. We also got some free at Kroger (they get in shipments from 9-10pm and will give them to you if you walk in and ask); we also got free boxes from a liquor store. I think Two Men and a Truck sell moving supplies. We just moved--can you tell?

I always had good luck driving behind Tates Creek Shopping Center near the hardware store. There is/was a liquor store that always had sturdy, but smallish boxes. Good Luck!

You could always register at The Freecycle Network and post a 'wanted: moving boxes' request.

I'm helping my mother move even as we speak, and we've been fortunate to get a lot of good moving boxes at the various Liquor Barn stores. For some reason, the Hamburg location seems to be a little more stingy (and snooty) about giving away boxes, but the Richmond Road location will let you take as many as you want (within reason).
