Default Reasonably Priced Lexington Upholsterer?

Hi All,

First off, let me say that I'm new to this forum and am delighted to have found it. I've read through many of the posts, and for the most part, the contributors all seem to be very helpful.

I am looking a good, but reasonably priced, person to reupholster a wing-back chair that my cat has had a field day with. I've gotten a few quotes in the $400 + range, but for that price, I can nearly buy a new chair. The chair in question isn't an heirloom or antique; just a comfy chair that I don't want to toss out because my cat prefers it to his scratching post...!

Any suggestions on upholsterers you've used in the past? I'd need someone that can pickup and deliver it back, because I now own a small car (thanks to $4 gas!). Thanks in advance for your help!!

Ask the guys at Another Man's Treasure. They gave me a name of a very nice gentleman who was reasonable, AND I am pretty sure he picks up and delivers.

If you buy your own fabric, you can have some control over how much that costs.

Go to Alma's Variety Shop on East Short Street for a highly unusual experience - but only if you enjoy eccentricity and digging through amazing amounts of things for treasures. I do not recommend taking small children with you to this establishment - Alma can be hostile towards them, and so can her lap dog. I like going there, though, just for the sheer fun of it. It's like something out of a Dickens novel.

For a more standard upholstery-fabric shop, there is one on Southland Drive just west of the railroad overpass, very nice, and reasonably priced. They have a clearance room upstairs as well.

Thanks for the tips, TC!
