Last year was hot (80s) and dry. It starts to get a little bit cooler in the early AM.

Hot (80's) is normal. So is a nice sunny 70's temp. It should cool off and start raining around mid- to late-October. And then keep raining.

September does start to cool off, but typically October is the truest month of fall that we have. You never know with where Kentucky sits though - I've seen 80s as well as light snow in Oct here. Sept is a bit more predictable with cooler evenings and nights and still fairly warm days.... but again... things can change from day to day!

I agree - it's hard to state unequivocally what the weather will be!

My favorite thing about fall weather in Lexington is that the roses along my driveway would often bloom all the way to Thanksgiving, and one year all the way till Christmas!
