Considering the OP's wishes, I agree with everything stated here. Especially nice job by JCM, but all of you have provided very good assesments. My work is done here Good luck with your move!

agabean is on a distinguished road
I couldn't resist...I have to say "you REALLY need to visit Lexington!" I came here from Chicago in 2000 and have found this to be a MUCH more diverse town they'd I'd EVER expect. Most of my friends are foreigners! Beside the fact that I was born & raised in Poland (prior to immigrating to Chicago), I've got dozens of friends who are Columbian, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, British, Arabic, Turkish...do I need to go on? You need someone who lives here & in a 'foreigner' to show you what this town has to offer! I'd be happy to take on the role, to be honest. Oh...did I mention that we've got a Greek Festival in town this weekend and last year we held our first annual Spanish Festival?!

Maybe my experience is skewed because I have many friends & connections to Lexmark and University of Kentucky, but I have to tell you that Lexington does have quite a bit of cultural diversity. You just need to visit it to see for yourself...and get a great 'tour guide'
